FAQ
Honest answers to the questions parents ask first.
Inklings is built for kids ages 4 to 8. The Studio is voice-first with giant tap-buttons — no reading required. Sparky guides every step.
No. Sparky is a tightly bounded storyteller — not an open chatbot. Every conversation follows pre-built branching flows we wrote and tested. Your child can only choose between safe options. There is no freeform text input.
Never. No story, no character, no illustration, and no print order leaves your account without your explicit parent approval first. New characters live in a private sandbox until you approve them.
Each character has a Character Bible — colors, outfit, personality, and a locked illustration seed — so the same puppy looks like the same puppy across every story your child writes. Series memory carries it forward over time.
Yes. We use Amazon's print-on-demand service to produce real 8.5" × 8.5" children's books that ship in 7-10 days. Print orders are a one-time charge, available on any tier.
Photos run through face-detection on your device first — any human faces are blurred before anything is uploaded. We use the photo to extract colors, shapes, and emotional tone for the character's illustration, then we keep the photo private to your account.
Yes. The parent creates the account; the child profile is linked to yours. We collect only your child's first name and age, and the parent's email. No direct child data collection, no public profiles.
